Dour Music Festival. July 15th -19th Belgium, Walloon region in the Hainaut County. An alternative music festival including 4 days of celebrations, an immense camp site, 6 stages, 240 groups and DJ’s.
Tomorrowland Festival – July 24th– 26th One of the largest shows in Europe featuring 3 days of music, food and dance. This festival is a themed village created in Boom Belgium. This festival was created by top recording DJ Demitri Vegas and Like Mike. This dance festival includes camping and a complete themed village that provides its guest with extraordinary modern comforts of showers, supermarket, restaurants with high quality cuisine to gift shops. International Beer Festival Berlin August 7-9 Berlin Germany. About 800,000 visitors from all over the world will meet right in the center of Berlin at the World´s Longest Beer Garden. 1800 different beers will be tasted from 240 breweries from 80 countries. Food, music, and dancing. This large event books early so early reservations are advised.
Bastille Day July 14th Paris France. Similar to the United States 4th of July France celebrates it liberation day with music, food, and fireworks over the Eiffel Tower and throughout every major city in France. The traditional military parade begins at 11 a. m. Some 4,000 soldiers, police officers, fire-fighters, including cadets of military academies begin rolling down Paris famed Champs-Elysées Avenue, as the flanked crowd cheers on.
Palio di Siena – In Siena Tuscany 2nd of Jult and the 16th of August. This two part race is one of the most well-known historic festivals in Italy, which consists of an exciting horse race which in Siena’s fan-shaped main square, Piazza del Campo. Horses circle the track 3 times and the contrada of the winning horse is awarded with the palio (a victory flag.) The race is really highly competitive and taking part at such an event is a unique experience even as spectator.
La Tomatina – Taking place on August 26th held in Bruno Italy. This event is widely known as the ‘tomato throwing event’. This event started only in 1945 when a young man on a parade float was knocked off by a rowdy group of young musicians who were playing behind the float making fun of the float rider. The float participant was so angry at the boys he grabbed a barrel of tomatoes and vegetables from a street stand and started throwing them at the boys. A riot broke out and so the tradition began.
Boom Festival– Portugal August 11-18th Located on the lakeside of Idanha-a-Nova, Portugal. Held every 2 years. This festival is a mix of Art, music, culture and spirituality. Boom is not only a festival, it is a state of mind. Inspired by the principles of Oneness, Peace, Creativity, Sustainability, Transcendence, Alternative Culture, Active Participation, Evolution and Love, it is a space where people from all over the world can converge to experience an alternative reality.
Bestival – Isle of Man, England September 10th-13th This festival host a mix of popular rock musicians from past and present. From Elton John to this year’s headliner Duran Duran. You will find artist from the softer side of rock at this festival. Camping, island activities, hot tubs and transportation to the island are available.
