Missing expat journalist

missing expat Dave WalkerIn Siem Riep province in Cambodia, a Canadian expat journalist Dave Walker went missing on February 14th. He disappeared unexpectedly from the guest house where he had been staying. It seems his passport, mobile phone, laptop and personal items were all left behind. His friends and the police are leaning toward some sort of foul play that unexpectedly must have taken place.

The Australian Embassy in Phnom Penh who handles Canadian affairs has been notified and is currently investigating the missing persons report. A witness who was part of the cleaning staff at the hotel where Dave Walker had been staying said that Dave had left his room around 2pm when the cleaner arrived to clean his room. The witness said, “Dave had left with nothing more than a bottle of water and stated that he would be right back.”

Sonny Chhoun, friend and business partner of the missing expat said that they had been working together on a film manuscript and stated that, “Dave did not drink and had a very regular schedule he liked to keep every day. This is unnatural for Dave and I know him well.”

Contact information and support can be found on “Find Dave Walker” Facebook page at #findDaveWalker to help raise awareness of his disappearance.
